Overview

Lil Bean Cafe - West Drive, nestled in Marikina City, offers a cozy refuge for coffee lovers and casual diners alike. This coffee shop stands out not just for its welcoming atmosphere but for its thoughtful integration of local art and craft, creating a space rich with character and purpose. Located conveniently at 35 West Drive, its homey vibe and chill ambiance make it an ideal spot for those looking to relax, catch up with friends, or work quietly with the available power outlets.

The café’s drink selection leans into quality and variety, showcasing favorites like the Dirty Matcha and Sea Salt Latte, both drawing praise for their balanced flavors. Non-coffee options and well-made iced coffees also add to the appeal, catering to different palates. Pastries like the moist banana bread complement the beverages well, though some items like their croffle might miss the mark in texture for certain tastes, hinting at room for refinement in their pastry lineup.

Food offerings such as the chix and chix platter serve as hearty snacks, accompanied by dips that bring an enjoyable spice element. While some find the serving size a bit modest compared to the price, the quality and flavor help maintain a positive impression. The friendly and attentive staff enhance the overall experience, making visitors feel welcomed and cared for.

The café’s interior highlights include art from Marikina City Jail inmates and handmade crocheted items, lending a meaningful background to the space and championing local creativity. While the main floor exudes warmth and personality, the second floor currently feels underdeveloped, with a simpler design that could benefit from added decoration to match the café’s vibrant spirit below.

Targeting a diverse crowd—students, remote workers, friends, and casual coffee enthusiasts—Lil Bean Cafe balances affordability with a welcoming mood. Despite minor setbacks like restroom maintenance issues and a few inconsistencies in the food and drink quality, the overall experience is relaxed and pleasant. It’s a place that invites lingering conversations, quiet moments with a book or laptop, and a genuine connection to its community’s culture.

For those in Metro Manila seeking a coffee shop that goes beyond just good drinks to offer a meaningful and homey retreat, Lil Bean Cafe - West Drive is well worth a visit—and many will look forward to returning.

Lil Bean is a cute cozy café with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere Prices are affordable and the coffee tasted great We ordered Dirty Match (175) and Sea Salt Latte (185). The snack, chix and chix platter (350). We originally ordered chix and fish platter but it wasn't available at that time. I think the chix and chix platter is quite pricey given the serving (see photo) but I loved the dip (spicy mayo). Yum! Hope serving will improve a bit. The staff are kind, welcoming, and attentive, which really adds to the overall experience I also love the paintings on display that are for sale from Marikina City Jail. Such a meaningful and thoughtful touch that gives the café character and purpose They also sell *handmade (crochetted items). Loved this! One small suggestion: I hope the second floor can be designed or decorated more in the future. At the moment, it feels a bit empty and dull, with mostly plain white walls, and doesn’t yet have the same personality and warmth as the main space. Overall, it’s a great place for good coffee, a relaxed atmosphere, and a meaningful café experience Would definitely come back

The drink were really good. I enjoyed the Iced Hazelnut Coffee, they have also non coffee based drinks. The banana bread was also moist and delicious. They also had a good playlist, I love the very chill vibe of the place. You can chit chat and stay for hours.

This is a nice coffee spot. The place is cozy and has that chill, homey vibe—perfect for catching up with friends or just having some quiet time with a book or laptop. I ordered one of their iced coffees and a slice of cake, and both were good. The coffee had just the right kick and the cake was moist and not too sweet. Staff were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. Price-wise, it’s pretty reasonable for the quality and ambiance. Not too crowded when I went, so it was a relaxing experience overall. Would definitely come back to try their other drinks and maybe stay longer next time.

The croffle was not good. It’s too bready and airy. It didn’t have that crunch that you are looking for a croffle. It’s like eating a super dry loaf. The drinks were too sweet to my liking. The matcha powder used is not a good quality. It tasted like 50 pesos matcha powder. Their nutella espresso was good naman. It had this balance sweetness and bitterness. I hope they can focus as well on their drinks and pastry since the place is nice. You can borrow their board games as well.

This cafe always had a soft spot in my heart. It has been my safe space since latter 2025. This was my go-to cafe when I was still video editing. Now, my partner and I already had multiple dates celebrated here. It's also cozy enough to crochet and you can mind your own business. The staffs are friendly and professional. Our fave rice meals here are Hungarian and Beef Tapa that comes with tomatoes and eggs. You are also given an option to request if you want it scrambled or sunny side up and it was professionally prepared. Our fave drinks here so far are anything with Matcha. Dirty Matcha was my partner's fave. It's combined with a shot of espresso that balances everything. My fave were Milky Matcha and Pure Matcha. If you prefer it sweet and milky, go for the Milky Matcha option. If you want to taste the earthy flavor, go for the Pure Matcha one It wasn't noisy nor too loud. The music picks are juuuust right.

Overall, it’s a nice café. The drinks are good, affordable, and come in different sizes with plenty of variety to choose from. It’s also a great spot for students cos when we visited, many were working on their homework and projects. The only downside for me is the smell inside, which feels a bit stuffy. I think adding an air humidifier or freshener could really improve the ambiance. The place is also a bit small and compact, but still cozy overall. Drinks: Milky Strawberry and Cookie dough coffee
